The FEIN MULTIMASTER leaves no wish unanswered. You can use it for sawing, sanding, scraping, cutting, rasping, polishing and consolidating concrete - one tool for all tasks.
Good Woodworking Magazine has awarded the Fein MultiMaster its coveted 'Best on Test' accolade.
"Fein's MultiMaster is the detail sander of choice if you want to get beyond the basic sanding of corners and rebates. Supplied with a variety of attachments and abrasives in a steel carrying case, and with a host of further accessories available. it's perhaps the 'Swiss Army' sander. Sawblades, scrapers and polishing pads help to make it a unique tool.
Build quality of this German made sander is superb, and although the square-shaped body is as bulky as its rivals, this one actually seems more comfortable to grip.
It's the oscillating action that makes the Fein so adaptable. Not only will it sand timber and other materials, special sawblades can also be fitted.
With oscillation greatest at the extremities, the saw teeth are able to cut quickly as long as they're free of dust build up. Don't expect to ripdown planks though. These thin blades are designed to deal with awkward situations such as flush cutting, sawing tight against angles and so on.
With the boom in laminate flooring, a perfect application for this blade is to cut a groove under skirtings and door linings so the flooring can sit underneath. You can even remove old putty from window rebates with this tool, with no fear of breaking glass.
Blades for metal, plastics and timber open up further possibilities. Because the steel is so thin, renovators will find these useful for cutting through hidden fixings to remove mouldings and so on without causing damage.
Other accessories include a range of profile sanding fingers for mouldings, diamond edge bits, grinding discs and scrapers, ensuring this tool lives up to its MultiMaster title.
